Thank you for the video. Well, how do you like flying a 747-8 compared to the 747-400?

Thanks.
I like it, feels better to takeoff/land at higher MTOM/MLM , engines obviously better performance. Engines GEnX THRUST 100% compared to the -400 GE/RR/PW up to 110%, you get the full engine performance/efficiency, meaning when selecting the full "TO" THRUST Lim for takeoff you get 100% not 100.5 nor 103.3 etc..like on the -400. I had to get used to the 5m longer fuselage for taxi, when 90deg turns, need overshoot taxiway centerline a bit more than on the -400, and for the same reason when over the threshold I (the pilot) am a bit higher over the threshold compared to the -400 for the same 50ft mains height. At cruise the pitch is around 3deg, bit more than the -400, because of the higher weight and different wing design, and for the same weight/high altitude condition the 1.3g buffet bars are closer together on the -8 than on the -400.
Takeoff V speeds are lower than -400 for same weights. When setting TO thrust, to show you how the GEnX is better, we only need spool up to around 45% then go, compared to the -400 to 60/70% spool up.
The FUEL TANK/ENG is reworked on the -8, keeping the fuel in the reserve 1/4 tanks longer, probably because of the higher bending moments (higher weights/different wing design) so fuel is needed wing outboard for as long as possible.
The -8 is flown the same as -400, that's why -8 and -400 share the same TR
