Are you tired of all the paper charts? Here a nice solution; an electronic flight bag. FS Widgets ( http://fswidgets.com ) release in October an addon to display charts, maps, checklists, realtime weather and any other web URL data. It is a "module-based" app and not an FS gauge. Once it is installed, it will work with any aircraft just by selecting it off the main FS menu. There is a third party toggle gauge that can be added to a panel to hide and show the EFB. What I really like about it is that it displays approach chart PDFs. Other EFBs out there require you to convert the charts to BMPs. Not with the FS Widget; just download the charts and open them with the EFB. Calibrated maps can be loaded, thus creating a moving map. The downloadable version is fully functional for 20 minutes. A key can be purchased for $19.95 to remove the time limit.
Check it out. Also, there is a real cool B747 sim cockpit shown on the website.

Would this be something those with the FSWidget would be interested in?

1 Mar 2006 - EFB2004 & Virtual Airlines!
A few Virtual Airlines have been imaking enquiries regarding how to configure EFB2004 with their internal pilot network. The EFB2004 "NET Page" is perfect for this type of application, and you can privately give your pilots direct access to weather, NOTAMS, documentation and other VA resources. You simply need to provide registered pilots with the URL to the index page and ask them to add it via the "Settings - NET" page.
For best viewing the pages can also be formatted to fit inside the the window. Here is a quick working example of how it can be used:
To try it in the EFB2004, add this URL via "Settings - NET" and select it from the NET page menu - http://fswidgets.com/va_example/index.htm
