Re: Airlines from the Past

Interesting news Dave. It would be great to see one of the old ones return to life. I'm happy to see they're using the familiar Eastern livery vs. a new one.

Richard,

On the issue with the overhead, can you press "A" and see a direct view of the overhead?

Re: Poll: POC Greaser Indicator

I just landed in Dallas, TX with not so good of a landing. :( Hard touch down and bounced once. After reviewing the approach, I've determined that though it was good weather, and I was established well in advance, I cut the throttle too soon, too fast. It is supposed to be done gradually. My FSFK fl...

Re: Poll: POC Greaser Indicator

Found this entertaining and instructive video. Though at the beginning it talks about much more than landing an airliner, the contents are only the portion covering landing and airliner.

Re: Poll: POC Greaser Indicator

Some SAX pilots strive to fly in a manner that is as close as possible to an good airliner pilot. For that, knowledge and practice are necessary. One source of knowledge is the flight critique from FSFK. Learning why points were taken and how to correct that is rewarding to the same group of pilots ...

Re: FMC Panel Retrofit

Tell me how it goes, if you decide to try again. Hard to beat the realism of the PMDG NGX and the LVD 767. It's not only the FMC, but the way the jet behaves, etc., that makes a difference to me. Hope it works for you.

Re: FMC Panel Retrofit

I've also have used this product, but on the default aircraft, and for the same added realism reason. Shawn, for your computer gumming up problem, have you tried optimizing your FSX? Best way I've found so far is going to this free site . A different, more manual, approach is found here . Another, a...

FSFK Updated to version 3.50

FSFK has a new version 3.50 ready for download. Best upgrade method is to use the "Check for Update" item in the FSFK "Help" menu, and follow directions from there.

Re: Updated Aircraft

Jim, We have talked about adding new aircraft types when thinking about expanding the airline. Keeping with the realism thing, we would add an aircraft type, if it makes "realistic" sense. For example, we replaced the CRJ2 with the CRJ7 because we could say that the CRJ7 is more cost effec...

Re: Poll: POC Aircraft Position Maps

What is the use of these "globe" maps on the table that shows a flight report? In other words, what are they used for? The only answer I've been able to gather is show the actual recorded path of travel for that flight. At one time we thought that we could use them to "evaluate" ...
