SunAir Express New
Pilot Evaluation Program
Welcome
to SunAir Express
Virtual Airlines!
Before you
can become a SunAir Express pilot you must first
pass
one evaluation check ride flight in the Boeing
737. To
begin your evaluation please read the information below.
Thank you
for your interest in SunAir Express, the worlds first
Virtual Airline! SunAir Express has been in continuous
operation since 1992. My name is Dave Blake, the Human
Recourses Manager for SunAir Express. SunAir
Express has issued over 700 pilot ID numbers and has flights to most major
cities in the United
States, flights to Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, Europe, Australia,
and the Far East with more than 1700 scheduled departures. To remain on
the active pilot roster we ask pilots to fly a minimum of
one flight per month but most pilots will fly one or
more a week.
To
join SunAir Express you will need to meet the following requirements:
- SunAir Express is open to any pilot who can demonstrate the ability to fly, navigate and land a Boeing 737 under instrument meteorological conditions.
This includes performing an ILS approach and landing
with a touchdown rate of less then -500 feet per
minute.
- You
need to own "Microsoft
Flight Simulator" version 2002, 2004 or FSX, "Flight Assignment ATP", "Airline Simulator
- AS",
"Airline Simulator 2 - AS2", or
"X-Plane".
- Microsoft Flight
Simulator users must use "FSACARS" to
record flight events. FSACARS is free and can
be downloaded here: www.satavirtual.org/fsacars/
or you may use the self-installer package provided when you to sign
up for the Pilot Evaluation Program check ride
flight.
To
fly for SunAir Express you must also first read the
SunAir Express Operations Manual: SAX
Operations Manual
To improve your flight experience we recommend
that you obtain a set of Terminal Procedure Books along
with a set of High Altitude Charts. Low Altitude
Charts are optional. These charts will come in handy while
planning and completing your
flights. You should be able to download most
airport charts, departure and arrival charts from many web sites like www.myairplane.com
and www.airnav.com.
When
you are ready to start your evaluation check ride
flight please follow the
instructions below and I will enroll you in our New Pilot Evaluation Program.
This program consists of one check ride flight of about one hour in the
B737. All pilots
must go through this evaluation before becoming a SunAir Express
Captain using FSACARS and
record a flight video of the
landing. FSACARS will record many events during
the flight. After passing your evaluation check
ride flight you will have
a choice of which Hub you wish to fly out of (Atlanta,
San Francisco, Tampa, St. Louis, or Brussels).
If
you have any questions about SunAir Express or our
evaluation program please contact
me. We are always
looking for experienced pilots. If you have what it
takes to be a SunAir Express virtual airline pilot please sign up
today!
